In Romania, REHAU has been on the specialised market since 1996. In South-Eastern Europe, REHAU has been successfully represented for 10 years, having more than 1,700 partners in more than 28 locations in 19 countries.

Short REHAU characterisation

History
1948, Rehau, Oberfranken region; traditional materials are replaced by polymer based materials; first products: frames for footwear industry, appurtenances and parts for motor car industry.

1956, the first subsidiary abroad is founded in Austria.

1996, the administrative centre for South-Eastern Europe settles its headquarters in Austria, Gutramsdorf, near Viena.

2000, the company's founder, Helmut Wagner, hands over the management position to his sons, and Jobst Wagner becomes president of Supervisory Board while Dr. Veit Wagner becomes vice-president.

Development
First, REHAU is successful in Germany and its Western neighbour countries. The first subsidiary abroad is settled in Austria. Then follows an expansion over the entire Europe and over North America, Asia and Australia. Nowadays REHAU has subsidiaries in more than 50 countries all over the world.

Future perspectives
In the following period, REHAU wishes to remain independent and to set medium and long term goals, instead of being interested in short term gains.

The management of the company is oriented towards a stable economical growth and is concentrating its activities to the activity branches and to the regions in which long term potential is detected.
